Maria Canta
Maria Canta is a collection of fashion made in tiny batches by artisans in Brazil and California. Born in 2016, this sustainable economy project was created by Brazilian artist Janine Mapurunga, who collaborates with artisans in her home country Brazil and her chosen home California to create the collection.
Maria Canta helps support artisan communities and preserve traditional crafts by ensuring this knowledge is transmitted to younger generations.
The collection includes comfortable clothing, unique jewelry, t-shirts, leather sandals with recycled tire soles and limited edition high quality leather bags. Items are available at local shops and at Janine’s art studio in Sacramento, CA.
Thank you for supporting small business and local art!
